Whistleblowing

Cherish Group Whistleblowing Form

Anyone can make a report, but please read the information below first as not all complaints or reports will be handled under this process e.g. a personal grievance or complaint that does not have the potential to cause harm to the general public.

Cherish UK and Cherish Children’s Care is a “prescribed person” under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 for the purpose of receiving “protected disclosures” (whistleblowing) regarding compliance with the requirements set out by CQC, Ofsted and English Law.

On occasion Cherish will receive allegations/complaints that may not be classed as whistleblowing and as such, the protection to the source is not that afforded to whistleblowers. However, we will respect the confidentiality of a whistleblower unless agreed otherwise with them and will process any information relating to individuals in accordance with our Confidentiality & GDPR Policy.

Upon receipt of a whistleblowing report an acknowledgement will be provided, should you choose to offer sufficient contact details.

Whether the investigation is ongoing or has been concluded can be confirmed but in most cases it is not appropriate to provide specific details of the investigation or detailed feedback.

Please note that contact details are often required to obtain additional information regarding your report in order to investigate. Should you wish to make an anonymous report, please ensure that you provide as much detail as possible.

You can fill out this form, alternatively you can email whistleblowing@cherishuk.co.uk

Any member of staff who witnesses or suspects abuse by another member of staff should report the matter without delay to their supervisor or manager. The manager will accept responsibility for the actions that follow and will assure the “whistleblower” that they have acted correctly by reporting the matter, will not be victimised and their confidentiality assured unless there are overriding eg legal reasons for disclosing their identity.

Please complete the form below to report anything that you feel a staff member, manager or anyone employed/associated by the Cherish Group is doing or has done in the past.

If it is suspected that a criminal act might have been committed, the situation should be reported to the police immediately.

Cherish Group accepts the right and obligation of any staff member, who thinks that their concerns are not being or might not be properly responded to or addressed, to report their concerns to an outside authority.

This could be the police, the local safeguarding adults authority, the CQC, LADO or Ofsted. Each of these organisations can be expected to respond in line their respective procedures. Again, in line with its Public Disclosure Interest Act responsibilities, the Cherish will not penalise or victimise any staff member who responsibly reports their concerns in any of these ways.
