Specialist Jobs

Area Supervisor Blackpool Office

Following continued success and expansion across our Blackpool and Lancashire services, we are now recruiting for a brand new position within the branch management team at our Head Office.

Salary: £27,000 per annum

Full time hours (35 hours per week, working shifts – early or lates, and alternate weekends)

Based at Blackpool Head Office (FY4 3RS) but travel in and around Lancashire will be required, as such you will need your own car.

The key attributes for our ideal candidate will be compassion, dedication and the ability to lead and nurture a small team. This is a hybrid office and field role, where you will be responsible for a cohort of Clients and a caring staff team within a specific geographical area (and also provide cover and support to other cohorts across the branch). Your remit will be to assist the set up and smooth allocation of new Clients, including liaising with the Cherish Care Assessors, Social Workers, family, District Nurses, Occupational Health and any other healthcare professionals to ensure we are providing excellent care from day one. Concerns, changes in the Client’s package, safeguarding alerts and regular review will be completed in a timely and professional manner.

You will work closely with the Recruitment Team to select the best candidates for your area with attributes that meet your Client’s needs. You will follow each carer through their onboarding journey, from completing their successful training and induction through to allocating them to a Mentor in the field and checking on their progress, before giving them their own rota. Supervision and ongoing assessment and recognition of your staff will be a key part of your duties.

You will not be responsible for doing the rotas, but may be required to cover sickness or unexpected absence in close concert with your team to ensure we do not miss a visit. You will communicate with staff via the phone, email, and your own chat group which you will moderate. You will accurately record and action sickness, absence, holiday leave, parental leave etc. and follow Cherish policy and process, supported by the HR team.

The office will be open from 7am until 11pm, 7 days a week. You and your associate Area Supervisors will cover these opening hours on a 2 week rolling rota with a mixture of early shifts (from 7am til 3pm with an hours’ break) or late shifts (from 3pm til 11pm with an hours’ break) and alternate weekends on shift (with days off during the week), on a full time basis, contracted to 35 hours a week. Extra hours will be added to your pay if you work more than this. We are happy to discuss these shift patterns with you. There is no on call service as the office is open all day every day, 7 days a week.

If you have any care co-ordinating experience, or you are a senior carer looking to take your career to the next level, this job may be for you. You will be provided with full training on our systems (People Planner and Access Care Planning) so computer literacy is a must. Opportunities for progression are available.

Cherish are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all candidates.
